Fair play
Divisions that mean something.
Every rec league has the team that should be two divisions up. League Time finds it before the first game, with reasons a director can stand behind.
How it works
Three steps, no guesswork
- Players answer five questions about their history in the sport: highest level played and when, years playing, how often they play now, and position. Never played? One switch, done.
- League Time turns it into a rating from 0 to 100. High-level play sticks with you and fades slowly; adult-onset players climb with experience. The breakdown is shown, not hidden.
- Every roster is checked against its division. Players who belong higher are flagged, and teams too strong for their division get a review, before the schedule is even built.
The director decides
Flags, not autopilot
League Time never moves a team on its own. Each flag shows its reason in plain words: who played what level, and where that puts them. The director can allow it, release a player to the waiver wire, or move the team up, and every decision is logged.
- Specialists like goalies can be exempt, if your league says so
- Age rules are checked from each player's birth year
- Membership numbers (USA Hockey, USA Softball) are checked too

All season long
It doesn't stop at registration
Subs and players added mid-season are checked the same way, so a ringer can't slip in for the playoffs. Suspensions from the scoresheet follow a player until they're served.
Questions players ask
Is this fair to me?
What if I answer wrong?
Answers are self-reported and the league director reviews them. If something's off, the director talks to you and your captain. Honest answers get you into the division where you'll have the most fun.
I played in high school 20 years ago. Does that count?
Yes, but less every year. The rating eases off the longer it's been since you played at that level, and never drops a former high-level player all the way to beginner.
I've never played before. Can I still join?
Of course. Turn on I've never played. Beginners can play in any division they fit, and new players are exactly who fair divisions protect.
Who sees my answers?
Your league's director and staff, and your captain sees the rating. Teammates don't. See our privacy policy.
Want fair divisions in your league?
League Time is built for directors who are tired of refereeing the standings.
